Results of the relative weight analysis - DigiMed1-study

This interview guide was developed for the cognitive pretesting of the DigiMed1 questionnaire on psychological processes in informed decision-making. Using a think-aloud approach, participants were asked to verbalize their thoughts while reading the vignette, and patient information material, and while answering items on risk perception, stress, emotions, satisfaction, comprehensibility, and decision-making. The aim of the interviews was to identify problems in item wording, comprehension, and response processes.

This document provides an overview of the questionnaire items that were pretested prior to the DigiMed1 study, the first empirical study conducted within the dissertation project on informed decision-making in medical contexts. The list includes all items that were initially developed or adapted for the DigiMed1 questionnaire and underwent pretesting to evaluate wording, comprehensibility, and suitability for the study population. The overview thus documents the basis of the final DigiMed1 questionnaire and allows for transparent reporting of the item development process.

This questionnaire was used in the DigiMed1 study to investigate psychological factors influencing informed decision-making in the context of patient education for contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT). The survey includes an experimental vignette, standardized scales to assess cognitive, emotional, and motivational responses (e.g., perceived comprehensibility, cognitive load, risk perception, emotions, stress), and items capturing informed choice (knowledge, attitude, decision). Additional sections cover demographic information and individual medical risk factors. The instrument was administered online to a German-speaking adult sample.

This collection contains the complete raw data and accompanying documentation for study DigiMed1 on informed deicision-making in medical context. The dataset was collected via SoSciSurvey and includes anonymized responses of all participants. The collection also provides detailed documentation: a variable overview (with item wording and scale assignment) and a coding scheme (with response options, and value labels).
