Human Adaptation Readiness Framework for Electrical Engineering Innovation Deployment: Conference presentation and accompanying transcript

Author(s) / Creator(s)

Abstract / Description

This conference presentation introduces Human Adaptation Readiness (HAR) as a psychophysiologically grounded human-centred readiness dimension for electrical engineering innovation deployment. HAR complements Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) by addressing the capacity of users to maintain attention, adaptive self-regulation, perceived agency, and decision stability under novel digital interaction conditions. The empirical basis includes a broader multi-stage study with 479 participants and an EEG-based experimental subsample of 50 participants. Latent profile analysis identified four adaptation profiles: Adaptive Novices, Balanced Adapters, Pressure-Vulnerable Users, and Adaptive Leaders. Particular attention is given to the stress-amplifying combination of interface novelty and time pressure and to the implications of HAR for onboarding, phased rollout, interface simplification, collaborative testing, and scaling in Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 environments.
