The text provides a comprehensive account of the life and work of Wilhelm Peters, Friedrich Sander and Annelies Argelander against the background of political events of the 20th century. To this end, new archival research was conducted in the university archives of Jena, Mannheim and Würzburg as well as in the Adolf Würth Center for the History of Psychology, which led to some new findings.
