Five Ways to Raise Your Voice in Organizations: Review, Measurement, and Integration of Alternative Models of Employee Constructive Voice Behavior
Author(s) / Creator(s)
Krefft, Anja
Weigelt, Oliver
Marcus, Bernd
Abstract / Description
Although a number of different forms of constructive, organization-promoting and informal voice behavior have been proposed in the literature, boundaries of and structural relations among those forms remain unclear. The authors thus have developed a preliminary integrative model based on conceptual rationales and on expert ratings of the content of constructive voice measures.
We aim at (a) collecting information to compare and potentially modify alternative conceptualizations of the internal structure, and (b) clarifying the external boundaries of the constructive voice construct by examining its nomological net. We thereby hope to enable future research to start from common ground theoretically, as well as providing researchers with a comprehensive measure of all relevant facets of voice with established psychometric properties.
Prerequisite for participation is an employment of at least 30 working hours per week and a company affiliation of at least one year. The questionnaire is in German.
Structural equation modeling with Mplus will be conducted to confirm the hypothesized structure and examine the hypothesized relationships.
