Abstract / Description
This preregistration outlines a study examining whether smartphone-derived indicators of social embeddedness help explain the association between socioeconomic status and life satisfaction. Using data from the Smartphone Sensing Panel Study, the analyses focus on three behavioral dimensions of smartphone-mediated social embeddedness: contact frequency, contact intensity, and network breadth. The study tests whether socioeconomic status is positively associated with life satisfaction, whether it is positively associated with smartphone-derived indicators of social embeddedness, whether these indicators are positively associated with life satisfaction, and whether they partially mediate the association between socioeconomic status and life satisfaction.
