Abstract / Description

Digital prompts are increasingly used as a type of intervention to change people’s behaviors, cognitive strategies, motivation, or emotional experiences. Digital prompting interventions are increasingly used in different fields of psychology and adjacent scientific fields, using different terms for interventions and different prompt designs. This fragmentation of the field may hinder scientific progress. Thus, an integrating overview of digital prompting interventions is needed.

During literature screening, we found that our initial assumption of conceptual similarity in prompting interventions across psychological subdisciplines was not valid. We modified the scope and RQs to focus exclusively on the educational literature.
