Es wird über das Personality Disorders Institute in New York berichtet. Die dort entwickelte manualisierte psychodynamische „ Transference Focused Psychotherapy“ der Borderlinestörung wird skizziert, die ebenfalls störungsspezifische Dialektisch-Behaviorale Therapie nach Linehan wird ihr gegenübergestellt. This article deals with the Personality Disorders Institute in New York and describes its manualized Transferrence Focused Psychotherapy comparing it to Linehans cognitive-behavioral Treatment of borderline personality disorder. L’article présente le Personality Disorders Institute (PDI) de l’Université de Cornell, à New York et son infrastructure pour le traitement de patients souffrant de graves troubles de la personnalité. Le manuel de traitement élaboré par Otto Kernberg et ses collaborateurs est brièvement décrit ; sa «transference focused psychotherapy» et son utilisation dans les cas de trouble de type borderline sont esquissées et comparées à la thérapie dialectique du comportement de Marsha Linehan, destinée au même type de cas. Nous mettons ensuite en évidence les lacunes manifestées à ce niveau par l’offre existant en Autriche et tentons d’en cerner les causes.
